16-02-16 - L’Ambroisie…Where Presidents Meet for Dinner…Coming to Macau in 2016
When it comes to choosing the best restaurant to entertain President Barack Obama at the start of the COP 21 United Nations conference on climate change in Paris on Monday (November 30, 2015), French President François Hollande had plenty of choices. Paris, as one of the top gastronomic centres of the world, has nine Michelin 3-star restaurants.
Not surprisingly, President Hollande chose legendary L’Ambroisie by Bernard and Mathieu Pacaud. L’Ambroisie represents the epitome of classic French haute cuisine and is the only Paris restaurant that has continuously maintained a Michelin 3-star ranking for the past 27 years since 1988.
President Hollande is not the first French President to have chosen L’Ambroisie to present the best of French haute cuisine to a visiting U.S. President. Former President Jacques Chirac also entertained former President Bill Clinton during his 1996 State visit at this renowned Paris culinary institution.
In the summer of 2016, L’Ambroisie will open its first branch other than the original in Place des Vosges at Louis XIII Holding’s hotel in Macau. Chef Pacaud will be in the Macau Restaurant one week every month, personally cooking and overseeing his culinary team. L’Ambroisie Macau will use only the finest ingredients selected and flown in from Paris to ensure absolute consistency with the Pacaud’s exceptionally demanding quality standards.
In addition to the classic menu from L’Ambroisie Paris, Chef Pacaud is creating several dishes that will be available only in L’Ambroisie Macau. He plans to invite President Hollande to go to Macau and try his special creations.
